TechFlex Wet Pour

Techflex wet pour is a maintenance free, seamless surface. The surface is produced by mixing the resin and rubber granules are mixed and laid on site. This makes it a perfect surface for children's play areas.

We are able to lay surfaces over concrete, paving slabs and tarmac directly. Areas covered in bark or grass can be easily converted with the installation of a stone or concrete base where the rubber can be laid. The installation of a 20mm layer of Wet Pour can be the ideal way of making a tarmac area safer which will give a cushioned surface for ball games, bikes and trikes.

Wet Pour Base Preparation

M.O.T. Type 1 Stone

Compacted to a depth of 100mm (minimum) subject to subsoil conditions. Finished compacted stone level to be equal to thickness of surfacing below the top of edging. Deviation to be no greater than 10mm over a 3 metre straight edge. Tolerance +0mm/-10mm for surfaces with a thickness of 40mm or more.

Geotextile Fabric (if required)

A geotextile Membrane (not polythene) laid into excavated subsoil pit, prior to M.O.T. Type 1 stone infill, and overlapped by 100mm (minimum) where necessary. Compaction of sub-soil is necessary prior to the laying of the fabric. In no circumstances must sand or ballast be used as a blinding material.

Critical Fall Height

Playground operators must choose a surface with a Critical Fall Height rating that matches or exceeds the maximum possible ‘free height of fall’ from their play equipment. A separate Standard, EN 1177:2008, defines the Critical Fall Height tests.
